When the Tonkawa Indians settled the central Texas area, most likely, they claimed much of this area as their primary hunting, fishing and planting grounds. By the arrowheads found along the creeks and other areas in Central Texas, it can be assumed also that their ancestors (or another pre-Tonkawa Tribe) were living there up to 6,000 years before.
