The "Big Tree", of Rockport/Fulton, Tx, is estimated to be somewhere in the age range from 1,000 to 2,000 years ol. Its location in the coastal gulf territory between Galveston and Corpus Christi was inhabited by the native group called the Karankawa before the Europeans arrived by at least a thousand years after it had been planted.
